Founded in 2004, Wise CPA, Professional Corporation began with a simple belief: business owners deserve more than compliance — they deserve clarity and a trusted advisor who understands their goals. What started when Matthew Wise, CPA, CA acquired a retiring colleague’s client base has grown into a boutique practice that still feels personal. Many of those early clients remain with us today — a reflection of the long-term relationships we build.
We serve owner-operators and mid-sized enterprises across Canada from our base in Ontario. As a boutique firm, we combine professional rigor with the agility and responsiveness of a small practice. Managing Director
Matthew brings more than 35 years of experience in accounting, taxation, and business leadership.
He began his career in public practice in 1987 as a University of Waterloo co-op student, earning an Honours Bachelor of Mathematics (with minors in Computer Information Systems and Accounting) in 1991.
He was admitted to the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1992, and remains an active member of CPA Ontario and CPA Canada.
After several years in both public practice and industry Matthew founded Wise CPA, Professional Corporation to provide business owners with a more personal, collaborative approach to professional accounting. His clients benefit from his unique blend of technical knowledge, business insight, and approachability.
After spending most of his life living in Burlington, today, Matthew calls Tiny, Ontario home, embracing the Georgian Bay lifestyle — blending work with nature, community, and the outdoors.
Beyond the office, Matthew is an avid triathlete (two-time Ironman finisher), beekeeper, and outdoor enthusiast who enjoys hiking, cycling, kayaking, photographing nature, and spending time in his workshop.
